She’s just Miley! Miley Cyrus Claims Rare Official Chart Double

Miley Cyrus scores a double on the Official Chart as Endless Summer Vacation lands straight to No. 1, her first album to top the chart in nearly 10 years, while Flowers tops the Official Singles Chart for its ninth week.

The pop chameleon’s eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation storms to the top in its opening week. Miley previously reached No. 1 in 2013 with her Bangerz LP, and also scored Top 10 hits with Breakout (2008) (10), 2017 release Can’t Be Tamed (8), 2017’s Younger Now (8) and Plastic Hearts (4 ). Discover the full history of Miley Cyrus’ official charts here.

This is also the second time Miley has scored the relatively rare Official Chart Double; she previously reigned simultaneously on both the Official Singles and Albums Chart in 2013, when both Wrecking Ball and Bangerz reached No. 1 in the same week. Miley is also the first artist to score the Double this year, and the first since Taylor Swift’s hit with Anti-Hero and Midnights last year.

On the Official Singles Chart, enduring mega-hit Flowers reached No. 1 for a ninth consecutive week, tying Olivia Rodrigo’s license as the longest-running No. 1 single by a female solo artist this decade. Thanks to the release of the parent album, Flowers also regains its title as the most streamed song of the last seven days in the UK.

Miley achieves two more singles chart entries this week – follow-up single River (16) and arena rock anthem jaded (27) both debut in the Top 40.

Martin Talbot, Chief Executive, Official Charts Company says:

“Since she emerged as Hannah Montana in 2009, Miley Cyrus has consistently pushed boundaries.

“Having taken the music scene on her own, she quickly set a new standard for herself, scoring a rare UK double top on the Official Singles and Official Albums Charts in 2013 with Wrecking Ball and Bangerz. The fact that we are doing this again almost ten years later is further proof that Miley is a huge musical talent that cannot be ignored.”
